Prescription Drug Importation Programs

Legislation enacted under CS/HB 19 authorizes the establishment of two new programs to import safe and effective, FDA approved prescription drugs into the state of Florida: the Canadian Prescription Drug Importation Program under the Agency for Healthcare Administration and the International Prescription Drug Importation Program under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Additionally, the bill contains various provisions and requirements to ensure compliance with federal law and to set safety standards consistent with the current federal requirements. While the effective date of this bill is July 1, 2019, federal approval of both programs must be obtained before either becomes active.

Licensing Examinations Now Available Through Pearson VUE Professional Centers
As of May 1, 2020, candidates may begin scheduling exams at the following Pearson VUE testing locations: Boynton Beach, Doral,  Ft Lauderdale (2), Fort Myers (2), Gainesville, Hollywood, Jacksonville, Lake Mary, Lakeland, Melbourne, Miami, Orlando, Ormond Beach, Pensacola, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, and Tampa. In addition to these test center locations, the Pearson VUE sites that have been available for essential services exams since April 16, 2020, will remain open to DBPR candidates, including: Deerfield Beach; Gainesville; Jacksonville; Miami; Orlando; Plantation; Port Charlotte; Tallahassee; and Tampa.  All DBPR licensing exams administered by Pearson VUE have been included in the essential services exams group, including examinations for: Asbestos, Auctioneer, Barber, Building Code, Community Association Manager, Construction (except plumbing), ...
